Amerikan Sinema Sanatları ve Bilimleri Akademisi tarafından 1929 yılından itibaren verilen ve sinema dünyasının gözdesi olan Oscar Ödülleri bu sene 94. kez altın heykelciği kazananları açıkladı. Oscar ödüllerini alacaklar merakla bekleniyordu. En çok merak edilenler ise bu sene 12 adaylığı bulunan Netflix'in The Power of The Dog filmi ile onu hemen 10 adaylıkla takip eden Dune oldu.
Türkiye saatiyle sabaha karşı 03.00 saatinde Los Angeles'taki Dolby Tiyatrosu'nda başlayan tören üç yıl sonra ilk kez sunuculu bir törenle sahiplerini buldu. Gerçekleşen töreni, Amy Schumer, Regina Hall ve Wanda Sykes sundu.
